Magnify is the discipleship ministry of PB Youth. Acts 17:11 teaches us that searching the Scriptures for truth (hence the term Magnify) is to be admired and modeled. In modeling that behavior we notice the reality that believers, particularly students, are simultaneously in the ministry at varying levels of spiritual maturity. (Hebrews 5:13-14)
To equip students in the way that is appropriate to their development, the student ministry offers Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters of discipleship classes. Each class is taught by called, qualified, and godly teachers. They love the students, are committed to their personal growth, and are dedicated to helping students know what they believe and why they believe it.
Magnify meets at 6:00 pm Sunday nights in the youth building.
Spring Semester 2014 ends May 18.
Fall Semester 2014 Begins in September...
11Now the Bareans were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.
13For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.14But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.
BIBLE DRILL -
Youth Bible Drill (7th, 8th, and 9th grades)
High School Bible Drill (10th, 11th, and 12th grades)
The NEW college scholarship is called the "BAREAN SCHOLARSHIP" after the verse Acts 17:11. All 10th, 11th, and 12th grade youth, that are members of Parkwood, are eligible. The requirement is that the student must compete in the High School Bible Drill and earn enough points at the regional drill to be considered a "State Winner" as determined by the BSCNC Bible Drill standards for that year. Each year the youth earns such a designation, $500 is credited to that student. The scholarship will be awarded to the students on Graduate Recognition Day of their Senior year. Also, should the student win the state Drill any of their 3 years in Bible Drill, Parkwood will match the BSCNC scholarship ($2500 in 2014). **Since this scholarship is so large it will be the maximum a student receives on Graduate Recognition Day.** For example, a 10th grader competes in Bible Drill and wins the state title at the state Drill, he will receive $5000 - $2500 BSCNC and $2500 Parkwood - on his Graduation Recognition Day. Even if he competes his 11th and 12th grade years and is a state winner at the regional Drill or wins the state Drill again, the scholarship from Parkwood will not exceed the $2500 he earned previously.
