Youth Missions

Since 2004, the student ministry employs a four year missions cycle based on Acts 1:8.  The cycle centers around the summer mission trip in which the annual focus alternates from local – out of state – local – international trips.  Also, the mission emphasis is on local and community projects in which the students are placed in crews to serve as the need arises throughout the year.  Projects vary according to associational, state, and national partnerships and the international focus is with IMB missionaries in northern Spain.

The cycle results in each student having a variety of missions opportunities that include four local trips and either one or two national or international trips according to the year they enter the student ministry.  Each student is also encouraged and equipped to develop and share their personal testimony of life and faith in Christ.  Outreach to lost or unchurched students is most effective when it is done by their peers.  Both parents and students are challenged to actively and prayerfully seek those with whom they can share Christ.

Acts 1:8
8but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
